Phyllodactylidae – Leaf-toed Geckoes
The leaf-toed geckoes (Phyllodactylidae) are a family of gecko-likes (Gekkota), which was split from the Gekkonidae on the basis of molecular biological studies only in 2008. The approximately 130 recognized species occur in southern Europe, in Africa, in southern North America, in Central and South America, in the Middle East and in Southeast Asia. The family includes all gecko species that are more closely related to Phyllodactylus pulcher than to the Tokay (Gekko gecko). All species are egg layers, they are rarely kept in the hobby.

Die Blattfingergeckos (Phyllodactylidae) sind eine Familie der Geckoartigen (Gekkota), die erst im Jahr 2008 auf Basis molekularbiologischer Untersuchungen von den Gekkonidae abgespalten wurde. Die rund 130 anerkannten Arten kommen in Südeuropa, in Afrika, im südlichen Nordamerika, in Mittel- und in Südamerika, in Vorder- und in Südostasien vor. Zur Familie gehören alle Geckoarten, die näher mit Phyllodactylus pulcher als mit dem Tokeh (Gekko gecko) verwandt sind. Alle Arten pflanzen sich per Eiablage fort, in Terrarien findet man sie relativ selten.
